miraDry is an effective and guaranteed treatment for the reduction of excessive underarm sweating. Average reduction in underarm sweating exceeds 80% per patient. Areas that can’t be treated are hands, feet, or forehead.
There is no big effort on your part to prepare for your miraDry treatment. Shave your underarms prior to the visit and don’t put deodorant on the day of the treatment.
First you will be made comfortable and relaxed. Then the nurse will draw out the area to be treated and a temporary tattoo is added. Next anesthetic is injected over the area. This means there is no discomfort during the treatment. Each armpit will take around 30 minutes and you will be asked to lie back and relax, listen to some music or your favorite podcast.
There will be swelling and you should ice the areas for 24 hours. The swelling shouldn’t prevent you from doing daily activities after the first day. Relax for that day, get your ice on and binge-watch some TV.
You should start to see results within a few days. There will be a significant reduction in sweat.
